TV Camera 3 for me. Helps give better perspective of everything around you, at the cost of being able to see where you are going.

I use cockpit specifically because I like how it looks and it is the only way to use TrackIR. Additionally, I use both Helicorsa and Car Radar on top of each other.

But if using bumper cam or whatever cam makes a really bad driver more aware of their surroundings, that sounds pretty good to me. If they are bad I'll (hopefully) be faster than them and this becomes a non-issue. Smile

Doesn't it turn a sim into an arcade?

Im thinking forced cockpit is an equal playing field , its the view of a true sim, its as if your punished for playing a sim as realistic as possible because those that choose to run with bonnet view have an advantage.
iracing has only one view is its sumulating what its like to sit behind the wheel, popping a camera on the bonnet view does not do this, i just feel for a true authentic sim cockpit is the only true option.

Level playing field is not a great argument, unfortunately. If that is your goal you'd have to require everyone have the same controllers, same display setup, same FOV, same apps... hell... same computer performance. Don't get me wrong... I get what you are trying to argue for, I just don't think that your camera's perspective really helps/hurts enough for it to make an actual difference in actual performance. Some of them clearly make you worse than if you were in cockpit biew (TV Camera 3, for instance Big Grin ) but none of them are going to let anyone win races they weren't going to win anyway. This is one of those "don't bother to police it" things.

I don't think it gives any advantage.

Because there's an imaginary generalization how a "normal" simulator looks like and there are people who break the rules and want something bigger. Why bonnet Cam? Why not?
