That sounds like a crazy project. Best of luck on that (as I have no expertise in that realm at all), but I will offer my super lo-fi and 100% cheap solution, at least for Assetto Corsa, and that's to use Real Head Motion. There's a few options in it that really help clue you in visually that you are sliding, and knows to "look into the vector instead of out the front of the car" when you actually put it sideways. Recovering from drift slides is trivial for me with this thing working.

https://www.assettocorsa.net/forum/index...-0-2.4755/ (you'll need a forum account for Kunos to get the latest). And if you use Content Manager (you should) you can integrate it with the launcher so it automatically starts Real Head Motion for you anytime you drop into a track.
