Greetings all!

Hi everyone!

What a relief it was to find SRS!

I’ve been playing pretty much nothing but driving games, simcades and simulations for the last few years on my laptop and on console. Only this last 6 months I’ve finally made the step up to a decent gaming desktop, wheel and pedals and I’ve been dabbling in online multiplayer since then. I’m by no means a bad driver but I’m nowhere near as quick as probably 50% of the field in the open lobbies which is why I say “I’ve been dabbling.” I like to race fair and clean, I find the challenge of this immensely rewarding.

I’ve found there tends to be 2 different races going on at any one time in my experience and this is where my problem lies. I’d say in a race of 20 competitors, the top 5 are there for a reason – experience – and as such they race close, fast and clean. The rest ends up being a destruction derby and therein lies my problem; I can’t yet qualify high enough to get ahead of the carnage and it is immensely frustrating when I’m trying to race a person and they decide to carve into my nose when I’m half way alongside them on a perfectly clear straight because I got a better exit from the previous corner. Or if you’ve chosen to take the outside line round a corner because you know others will be bunching up at the apex and somebody else uses you as a handrail to get round, leaving you in the tyres.

I’m sure these are all frustrations for each and every one of you reading this, so you’ll understand where I’m coming from and then how glad I was when I did more research into online sim racing and found out about SRS. I’m really looking forward to getting into some respectful racing. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not expecting it to always be perfect and genuine accidents happen, but I’m hopeful that it’s going to be a damn sight better than in an open lobby race.

I’ve mostly been playing pCARS since building my PC and buying a wheel but I do also have AC. I really want to get into AC and enjoy it but I just can’t seem to get my wheel feeling right with it. I have a Logitech G920 and the FF is just really, really off at the moment. I should really invest some proper time into trying to tune it in but honestly, I don’t get much time for PC action as it is, so every opportunity I get I’ve been straight onto pCARS where my wheel at least feels a bit more natural.

Anyway, I think I’ve rambled enough for an intro! If anyone has any top advice for making the best use of SRS then don’t hesitate to leave a reply Big Grin  Thanks all!
