Well, I did it. I spent two days learning Mudbox for skinning, and did my best to share what I learned in the form of a SUPER long tutorial I posted in the tutorials sub-forum
OVER HERE
So whenever I start working on my next, I'll be ready to tackle even more complex designs! At least I think I will!

Opened up a can of worms? Just kidding! Russel, have u tried iRacing? I'm not gonna ask you to do a paint there or lets race there kinda thing, but I know a guy there who made an automated painter. Meaning, people just fill up a google sheet, more like a check box, and 5 minutes, paints done... One day you might think of that when SRS suddenly has 60k active members and half of them asks for a paint from you... LOL ~ But handmade with TLC is still best as always! Good luck and Cheers man!

Yeah, I saw the guy you are talking about I think. It looked mostly like he created a design with 2-3 colors, a place for the driver's name and number, and then pushed "go" to output a ton of skins. That's not really what I'm going for. I want to design wacky looking cars with finesse that don't look all like each other and stuff.
And yeah... I'll only be doing one at a time, and once the requests start coming in (assuming they will) I'll have to figure out how to prioritize!

Sounds good! You and Tim C. are the only two that have expressed definite interest in this thread, so you may be at the front of the line once new cars are announced. Likely I'm going to be prioritizing the cars I'm going to be driving in the next set of series, so if you want a livery for whatever those are, you are likely to get it sooner rather than later. For reference, I typically race in the Simpit series (Friday/Saturday GMT), and the 6x a day series currently occupied by the Mazda MX-5 Cup.
Hopefully they announce the next set of cars soon so I can get a jump on getting the models into Mudbox and cleaned up ready for painting!
Edit: Word on the street is that the Simpit is going to be running the 90s DTM series next, which includes all of the following cars:
ks_alfa_romeo_155_v6
bmw_m3_e30_dtm
ks_mercedes_190_evo2
I've started my Alfa Romeo. Not positive I'll drive it, but I may very well get around to setting up Mudbox meshes for all three, just in case.

Not sure if the MX-5 will make a return, but the 90s DTM is probably 99% a sure thing since that gets voted on by Simpit subscribers every season, and that's what Shaun C. was talking about last night on his stream.

My first couple of customers seem fairly happy with their new rides. I'm going to be spending my next skinning hours on my own personal Lambo skin... I am having some fun re-learning how to use my Wacom tablet on this one! Until then, check out the new hotness:
Maxim's new Lambo
Dawid's sexy orange Audi
