Quick lap chart - no calculator - Rob Russo - 10-25-2020

This is probably common knowledge, but this chart quickly shows the total number of laps in a 20-minute race.

Find your lap time between two of the numbers and use the lap count of the faster time above it.

laps   time (to nearest tenth second)

23      0:52.2
22      0:54.6
21      0:57.1
20      1:00
19      1:03.2
18      1:06.7
17      1:10.6
16      1:15
15      1:20
14      1:25.7
13      1:32.3
12      1:40
11      1:49.1
10      2:00
9        2:13.3
8        2:30
7        2:51.4
6        3:20
5        4:00
4        5:00

In the interests of having to think less, drive more... Cool

I like that idea.

* I didn't read the full title. Sorry

But for me I have a very simple calculation that I can do on my phone.

For 20 minute race

1200 ÷ (lap time in seconds)

eg 1 minute 45 seconds is 105 seconds

1200÷105= 11.43

I always round up to be safe so its 12 laps.

For 60 minute race

3600 ÷ (lap time in seconds)

eg 1 minute 45 seconds is 105 seconds

3600÷105= 34.29

I always round up to be safe so its 35 laps.

To work it out for different length races

(Race length in minutes) x 60= race length in minutes
÷(lap time in second)
= Number of laps

The to work out your fuel
fuel per lap x number of laps

I HIGHLY! recommend sidekick and use the fuel last lap feature

RE: Quick lap chart - no calculator - Russell Sobie - 10-27-2020

Mine is the easiest. Download and install this app: https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/acrlfuel.15424/

Click the arrows until the Range is in time.

Do 2-3 laps at your typical race pace.

Adjust fuel so that your range is 20/60 minutes+your typical lap time. Then add one more liter if the car/track combo is likely to have some offroading on the first lap. If you know what I mean. Big Grin

RE: Quick lap chart - no calculator - Matteo Venuti - 10-27-2020

That app saved me a lot of times, expecially yesterday in the De Tomaso Big Grin
Having the consumption, remaining laps and liters/lap almost in real time is really really good, mainly for people that usually put the wrong amount of furl before the race, or for the "How many liters" guys

RE: Quick lap chart - no calculator - Michael Martin - 10-27-2020

Didn't know about that app!

RE: Quick lap chart - no calculator - Rob Russo - 10-27-2020

Saved me, too, while trying to conserve gas in the Ford Coupe Legend and watching "liters required" change from  +1.3  to  -.5 by the last lap.
Very cool! Tongue

Updated the Quick Lap Chart to include 1-hr races.
It will help you go faster... Cool

If you want to calculate the required amount of fuel, you have to add the overtime (+1 lap).

For example, if you have 20 minute race on Nordschleife and your laptime is let's say 6min 40s, there is a chance you will do 4 laps in a race as you will finish the third lap before 20 minute timer ends.

Not sure how that is implemented in app.

RE: Quick lap chart - no calculator (UPDATED) - Rob Russo - 06-03-2023

Updated to include 30-min races, becoming more popular as of late.
The time represents the cut-off before an extra lap would be started.
