New here, need help - Sheashant Limbu - 08-21-2020

Hi guys new here
I registered via the in game portal but press Join. I did a few laps in Practise session. Went to Qualifying but nobody was there.
SO, then i went to public lobby and another server was there saying 22/24 drivers in Practise session.  Huh
Any advice?

Sounds like you got disconnected from the server. Just reconnect, like you did.

What race? If there are many participants, they get divided into splits based on points.

RE: New here, need help - Martin Smith - 08-22-2020

Oh yeah ^^^

If a track can fit 23 racers but 24 sign up then the lowest rated guy will be split into a race on his own.

i believe they try and make the splits so there are at least 5 people in the bottom...at least this has been the experience of 2O4F members

Keep in mind that some tracks have fewer than 24 pit boxes. So in some cases you can get 24 people sign up and 5 will end up in the second server.

RE: New here, need help - Russell Sobie - 08-23-2020

I don't think the splits are that "smart"... I think it fills server 1 all the way along with the SRSTV client, then puts everyone else on the next server until IT fills up, and so on. I've been on server 2 with only 2 other drivers before.

Yeah, clicking around in the Estonia races that had multiple servers, I found this example: https://www.simracingsystem.com/raceresultssrs.php?&a=aIB%2F&b=Ynp6cY9qZmSJioSj&c=Yg%3D%3D&d=kb27ptOmow%3D%3D&e=cb%2B8sMyhqKO8xMPgkrqqoZbm1dI%3D

The server 1 for that race had 23 drivers. So it is entirely possible that if you are driver #24 (for a circuit with 24 pit lanes) then you will be all alone on a server and get a free 80 champ points for your troubles (so long as you don't hit any walls).

you fellas are probably right, perhaps it was a track with less than 24 pit boxes but I swear we have had people end up with like 5 in the 2nd split when 24 or 25 drivers registered...or perhaps the counter was not updated before we joined the race... Smile
