Hi there - Jay Behr - 12-15-2019 Jay Behr, new to sim racing, and especially to online racing. Greener than a cabbage, but keen to learn. Coming to terms with a Logitech G920, slowly but surely. Sim: Assetto Corsa. I also have the free/trial version of Raceroom, but haven't really got into that one yet. I think I'll be buying AC Competizee ... Compeetitsi ... CompoCleggsi ... The Blancpain GT one! ... in the New Year too though, coz I love watching GT racing. UTC? GMT, with ice and a slice. RE: Hi there - Kees Post - 12-15-2019 Welcome there matey. Racing online with other people will sure make you learn a lot faster. As long as you don't dive into the pack on turn 1 and respect blue flags you're already ahead of a few users here. You can find great tutorials to help you get faster from the youtube channel driver61 which can be found here https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCtbLA0YM6EpwUQhFUyPQU9Q And the youtuber Emptybox who you can find here https://www.youtube.com/user/TacticalCardboard (When I started out about a year ago with simracing it helped me out quite a lot. The one especially about trail braking will gain you a lot of time in general, but especially in AC) I cannot stress this enough, but make sure you set up the correct Field of view. You can calculate it here: https://www.projectimmersion.com/fov/ As for the series, look around on the forum here. You will need to download tracks/cars if you don't have them and you will need to extract them in the correct place. You can also download a lot of user created apps for AC. The ones I would advise you to download are Helicorsa - https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/helicorsa.5199/ Sidekick - https://www.racedepartment.com/downloads/sidekick.11007/ TheSetupMarket - http://thesetupmarket.com/#/ (You can download setups from people, or upload your own for others) RSR livetiming - http://www.radiators-champ.com/RSRLiveTiming/ (Keeps track of your laptimes, I find it handy to see how far off pace I am, or what time I have driven previous and now can't seem to get close to) SRSskinapp - can be found here on the forum. Hope this helps. |
