newbie, billowing smoke and brakes don't work - Nick Gore - 09-21-2019

Hi,

I just tried my first race, after weeks of practicing against AI.

The other cars threw up billowing clouds of smoke, cutting vision to 0.

And my brakes ceased working.

I'd appreciate any thoughts on solving these two problems.

Thanks

Hi Nick,
Don't know about the brakes, but if you're using Content Manager and the Shader Patch try turning off the items in CM-Settings-CustomShaderPatch-Particles FX.
I read that the "New smoke and dust" setting is not working right.
Hope that helps!

I'm using the latest version 205.

Thanks Rob,

I think that solved the smoke. It was doing the same thing in VR and that stopped after I turned off the smoke and dust.

I'm still wondering why my brakes didn't operate properly in SRS.

After SRS, did you try your brakes again in an non-SRS race? The pedal might have failed. Also did you re-check brake pedal calibration?

The brakes work perfectly in Assetto Corsa against the AI.

And I did recheck the brake pedal calibration.

FYI

I got the brakes to work. Fanatec V3 pedals. I plugged them directly to usb, rather than into the wheelbase.

Thank you Pawel and Rob
