F3 Race Brands Hatch GP 18:00 - Edward James Grey - 08-06-2019

Hi Guys

The people online in the race will already know about this.
But as soon as i pulled out of the pits i knew something was up.
Every single car on track looked like it had a blown engine... I tried to work around it but unfortunately it made my game unplayable.

I've not changed or added anything new to my computer or system.

Can anyone shed any light?  I restarted multiple times and even turned off smoke generation entirely, but still the problem was there. Also doesn't happen if i run a single race at the same track with the same car.
Im LOST!!!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Wow, that's really strange! I was in that lobby and I remember you asking in chat if anybody else was experiencing this issue.

My game was fine, so I don't think it's the server itself.

It looks like your problem is that your computer got hacked by a site called "photobucket". Maybe you should instead post images on imgur. Big Grin

Unlikely but any chance you got one of those drifting smoke mods installed that is bugging out or something?

Nope - i cant stand drifting whatsoever, so that's not the issue.

Im going to re-download the car just in-case.

I think I may have found the cause to the smoke...

I'm assuming you're using Content Manager with a Custom Shader Patch? If so, go to Particle FX settings and edit the Smoke Effect settings (I don't know what the options are as I'm at work atm so can't check myself)

I stumbled across this post on Reddit earlier and it reminded me of this issue! (If you read the comments it'll give you more details)

I hope this helps; let me know if it fixes the problem!

Almost!

The problem was having an incorrect shaders patch version ticked within the menu. Picked the most reliable one now and all is normal again.
