Incident Average Exploit. - Joe Hill - 11-22-2018

Hiya
So not sure if this is common knowledge or something I've just found but there is an exploit you can use in SRS to lower your incident average without actually having to race cleanly. If you register for a race and just don't join the session you lose some rating obviously, however your incident average also goes down despite you not actually having done anything to have it do so, I just realized this when I chose not to join a race due to it only having 4 people in it. I think it could be exploited pretty easily and in reality losing the rating you also have to lose in order to lower the Incident Average is somewhat non-consequential considering how easy it is to regain it, and the trade of losing points to exploit the system to lower your incident average is a lot easier than it would be to properly fix a shoddy incident average by consistantly driving properly.
Dunno if this matters to anyone or if it's even a known issue,
but thought it worth bringing up just in case.

Nice catch. I don't know how important it is given this is sort of a niche audience, of course... but it seems like it should be possible to detect a number of registrations without race results that are beyond some limit and start throwing penalties at it.

I think I'd find it easier to just be more careful than it would be to sign up for races I don't plan on actually joining. Wink
