RE: Using lights during a race - Juan Reinoso - 08-10-2018 I know that in some leagues, for example in racedepartment, it is forbidden For me, one solution is to deactivate the mirrors, if you are so annoying, you wont worry that I dont see you by the mirrors, try to pass me then... maybe you like the grass RE: Using lights during a race - Alex Leif - 08-10-2018 I have PP turned off, so can’t see the lights in the mirror, actually turning off mirrors is surely a recipe for disaster lol RE: Using lights during a race - Jaroslav Černý - 08-10-2018 (08-08-2018, 01:24 PM)James Blint Wrote: I ve seen some flashing lights as a way to put some pressure on you, personally i don't care but i can see how that could be annoying, and frankly a little low.I may flash a car in front once to let them know I want to pass (blue flag) when it appears they do not see my turned on steady lights and are unaware of being flagged. Or if people play dirty, pushing off track, colliding etc. but then they may just get the horn. I always single flash when blue flaggers let me pass safely/well so they see my rear lights blink as a thank you. Unlike most drivers my lights go from ON to OFF to ON, so it's a flash to black. It does not affect game performance unless the game is really crappy. What are you gonna do at night races when all cars have lights on? Run 10fps instead of 40fps? Hack the weather/time files so you have no night and no lights? (08-09-2018, 01:09 PM)John Gordon Wrote: Its used a lot in GT racing. Its mostly just to distract the car in front in the hope he'll miss his braking point or apex. Its psychologically battling with the car in front to move his focus from whats in front of him, to whats behind him. The fact that there's a thread regarding it proves it worksNot really. Anyone decent can see you even if you're 10 places down that you're climbing and catching up, about what lap you might catch up etc. I find putting pressure by presence works much better than trying to flash lights, it's more gonna distract you trying to flash lights than the person in front. Kunos also thought of this, it's called forced rear view mirror. RE: Using lights during a race - Juan Reinoso - 08-10-2018 (08-10-2018, 09:02 PM)Jaroslav Černý Wrote: And then you get penalties. Penalti for deactivate mirrors??? LOL!!! Im not talking about simcades, Im talking about Racing Simulators RE: Using lights during a race - Jim C Russell - 08-11-2018 Best to ignore the if car is not lapping you, and ask if their windshield wipers work as well....after the race of course 'or maybe its morse code!!!!' RE: Using lights during a race - Juan Reinoso - 08-14-2018 LOL!!! If a driver is so easily distracted that they make an error because someone is flashing lights at them then it makes you wonder how badly they will cope when in a tense battle with one or two other drivers. Yes, agree. I have learned during my 10 months on SRS not to spend to much time looking in the rear view mirror. It really doesnt help to see that a car is gaining on me, the only thing I can do, is to focus on driving my own car as fast as possible. When he comes into «overtake-distance» it is of coure another matter, then its time to defend, but I find the Helicorsa a much better tool to see the position of the car behind me. Flashing lights doesnt bother me at all, but it might have an impact on game-performance. Not for me though, since I have a PC that cost me about 3000 €, but not everyone has that kind of gear. Personally I never use the lights, but sometimes I use the horn (if available) to tell lapped cars that they should get out of the way. They most often do, thats my impression. Erik |
