I took someone out of a race today, is there a way to message other racers directly to apologize for something like this?

I would usually check their name in the replay and find them on SRS to apologize. I think that's an easy way to do it.

Yes if you know their name you can send them a private message. At the top right where your name is, there is a private message section in the drop down menu. In there you can compose a message and send it to them.
