Unlucky - Ralph Maiph - 12-31-2017

I am compelled to express my frustration with the quality of racing in this Tatus Series. I have run seven races at Imola and only once have I not been punted off at the first corner, assuming I even get that far. Please chaps show some restraint, trying to win the race at turn 1 is just amateurish. Bah!

RE: Unlucky - Russell Sobie - 12-31-2017

I share your sentiment. However, I have a feeling that folks that try to win the race on the first lap are likely not to be the readers of these forums. I would say that it isn't just the Tatuus series, but just about every series. It's better here on SRS than it is on a random pub server, at least.

(12-31-2017, 06:30 PM)Yep you\re quite right, same old story, I have been doing this long enough to know. I'd better go and find a suitable league again. A pity, I had high hopes for this system. This is unfortunately a fairly recurrent behavior in the sim racing. But overall I confess I do not have to complain too much about the srs races. If we participate in races with a large number of drivers and we are selected in the server 1 we fall with good drivers. Even more if you manage to qualify in the top 5.

The more people on srs, the more selections there can be. For example races open only for ratings over 600.

After the error is human we can be a good driver, if we arrive on a race with too little training we are dangerous. It is everyone's responsibility to run for a race with a minimum of training.

Always the same on single-seater series, Tatuus, F3, MTX, etc.

RE: Unlucky - Stefano Zanella - 01-01-2018

only 7 times in a formula? you are LUCKY

and doesn't matter the position of qualy, i did more than 10 poles and another 10 second/third places at start.. i didn't get hit on t1/t2 like 3-4 times in all my races.. but in 1 of them i did punt someone too =( at Spa

anyway it's how formula works on net.. it's very hard to have clean races, even on real races there are huge load of contacts at starts, you can only live with it.

RE: Unlucky - Michal Janak - 01-01-2018

I am realy very rerely not punted in all races, like blinds or i dont know, there is pack of the cars, nowhere to go and punted froom back, overtaking in places where is no room in 1st lap with cold tyres , the races are 20 minutes so no need to "win" on firs,

RE: Unlucky - Erik Hanoy - 01-04-2018

I agree. Very frustrating with these crashers. It’s important to understand basic racing,
but not everyone does, unfortunately. But what is even worse, are those
driverswho run into you from the back, on purpose. They should be banned from SRS.
I’m very much in favour of races above 5-600, you’ll get better racing. The Tatuus was mayhem,
and the Dallara-series is much the same.
The Mazda MX5-participants is generally very fair, I think,
as well ad the 1 hour races.
Anyway, the best way to avoid this kind of drivers,
is to do good in Qualification, P1 to P6 usually contains drivers who know what they are doing

RE: Unlucky - Russell Sobie - 01-04-2018

If you get someone ramming into you from the back obviously on purpose, SRS wants to know about it via the protest form submission. And they'll get suspended and/or banned for such behavior. Typically getting punted in the first lap isn't "on purpose" but is more from just not being used to what turn one actually looks like with a full grid of people dropping down to 2nd or 1st WAY earlier than you would on a hotlap because, you know, that's how traffic works.

Either way, folks gotta learn some how. Ideally it'd be against 23 other bots on a private server, but if it takes joining an SRS race and getting a 1 month suspension for being careless, so be it!

RE: Unlucky - Simon Meisinger - 01-09-2018

In most of the cases where people complain about always being crashed, it's actually their own fault.

There's a reason why more experienced sim racers don’t complain about those things.

Watch surviving rookies, it's done with iRacing and oval footage, but it 100% holds true to road racing as well:
