Racing current gen DTM cars - Sebastiaan van den Heuvel - 10-15-2017

Is there any interest in racing these cars? I for one would think they would be allot of fun!

Obviously they cost some money but hey, most good things in life do Tongue If we race the 2013 spec cars if would cost 4 euros for the Audi, Mercedes and the BMW.

Probably exist free mods. I would like see modern DTM here Smile

RE: Racing current gen DTM cars - Sebastien Brunier - 10-18-2017

sounds like a good idea to me too Smile

RE: Racing current gen DTM cars - Maarten Kluitman - 10-18-2017

Are they any good? Smile

If yes, I would like to race modern DTM, or any touring car

Were payed mods used before? If yes, was the attendence good enough?
Would be cool to get a full server at least. But based on the popularity of old DTMs this shouldnt be a problem. Yesterday a big group showed up (80+)

Maarten, old and modern DTMs never can run the same season so problem solved.

I typed "should" while I meant "should NOT"

I was trying to say that touring car races are popular (based on 90s DTM attendence). Thus, I assume that the modern DTM will be also quite popular Wink

So there was no problem Smile

Well allot of the series run are with DLC cars so why wouldnt we run (good) modded cars we have to pay a few euros for? Allot of works goes into those mods so I dont mind giving the guys that put in their time a few bucks. And to be honest there are modders who produce better content than the AC dev team, look at the Ferrari F1 hybrid cars. I think the formula hybrid mod has the better feel.
So if the SRS devs feel like adding modern DTM cars i tink allot of people on here would love to race them, having the race at prime time would make sure we might even get a full lobby Smile

For me this would be OK. But I've also seen posts where people complaint about about races that use official paid DLC from Kunos. Reason: there are good mods out there which are free. However, hopefully that's the minority Wink

How close are the Audi TT Cup 2016 and Audi TT RS (VLN) to DTM cars? They look like touring car like cars, so that can maybe be fun too, right?

I do have to admit that I like a mixed set of brands/types in a race, with each their pros and cons.

I agree for the TT-Cup, loved the championship that was organized with it, unfortunately not so many people joined 164 drivers overall for a 12 races championship... see here
