I think everyone has the same problem, I don't understand why there are so few people running now when there were a lot of people before, but that happens when you try to connect and see that there is no one, you do not connect, you have to do something to solve it

The player base has moved to the newer sims that include their own competition platform in-game, and the people who stayed in AC has spread around the different SRS alternatives that appeared in the last months offering new features. It is true that historically the attendance always go down during the summer months, but I don't think that we will see again races with more than 100 players inscribed like we used to see in the gold days of the platform.
Just enjoy it while it lasts.

The simple thing to do is, click the join button, regardless of the number of people that are or are not joined already. It doesn't stop you from doing other things. Practice offline, practice only, surf the internet. When it's time to race, you see if it's worthwhile or not.

This is my first 'summer season' in SRS but IMO, I would expect numbers to be down during these months as kids are usually at home and is a common time for people to go on vacation. I certainly agree with the original posts that people should just register because as far as I was aware there is no penalty for not racing when there are too few cars entered so if you intend to race, just sign up and if there isn't enough, don't race...

Ideally the registration process would:
1) Allow the user to register from anywhere, not just the PC they actually have cars/tracks installed to. I realize that this is to help ward off people who do not have the required paid DLC or mods installed, but given the fact that it is relatively common to have the wrong VERSION of a mod installed, I don't see this being something to have as a sacred cow.
2) Allow the user to sign up to multiple events at once. Sort of "plan your race day". This would get the numbers up on races that are more likely to have a turn out and bring more eyes on particular races so that folks that have not yet "planned their race day" might shuffle their day around to attend a known popular race on the schedule.
3) Allow the user to sign up to multiple races of the same series at a time and be able to see all of the signed up races at once (rather than a single race taking over the registration page). Same reasoning as #2: get the numbers up well ahead of time to get more attention on races that are (likely) going to have a good turn out.
Yes, people can cancel right up to the 5 minute mark on any of these races, and yes, people might forget they signed up for a race and not show... but that's why there's rating penalties for not DNFs.
There's probably other reasons I haven't thought of why SRS (and most other systems like it) are not setup in the way I suggest above... but from what I've thought of, the pros outweigh the cons, especially in a platform that isn't exactly bursting with activity if only because it's main title (AC) is a bit long in the tooth.

I know the active participation numbers don't support this, but it would be great to have championship races occur every hour. Obviously that would mean multiple races active at the same time, and there aren't nearly enough people on SRS to fill these up. But in a perfect situation, that would be great.
I really like Russell's point 1, registering from a different device would be great. I'm not always at my gaming PC, and that would enable me (others) to register earlier.
Actually, all 3 points are great, definitely food for thought.

Not just more convenient, but it would also make more people join the races. And I don't thinkg it would be that hard to implement.
The other two are great as well of course.
